The Sofa Movie
Remember the outdoor sofa/daybed I mentioned I was going to build? It's done! And I made a stop motion video of building it. This was so fun, you guys. My patio has become my primary residence lately, not because I'm so into the outdoors, but because I've ceded the house to the kids. I'm outnumbered, and I had to retreat. Here's the video:
I had the idea to build this because Jon and I did some repairs on the deck and had a few boards leftover. Some I salvaged from the deck itself. And as I was building it, I thought I should probably photograph the process. And as I was deciding what steps to photograph, I thought a stop motion of the process would be hilarious. So I made this tripod:
That was sarcasm. Yeah, she's back from wherever she was last week, and she's suspiciously exhausted and suntanned.
Ohmygollygee, that's awesome. I love the video and the sofa. I'd like to come lounge on it!
ReplyDeleteWow! I would never have the patience to make a video like that. So awesome! And I love how Ms. Norwood makes a cameo.
ReplyDeleteHa! you crack me up! I agree that takes a lot of patience to create (both the sofa and video). They both look great!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! (Both the video and the sofa.)
ReplyDeleteAlright, Katie. That blew me away. The music, the camerawork, the fun cast, the workmanship, the lovely yard/deck that doesn't have trash/ rogue garden hoses in/on it etc. Everything! What's the Oscars equivalent of blog stop-motion movies? I'm nominating you for sure. I mean, you regularly singlehandedly raise the standard of crafting/home improvement by about one million notches because you make it look effortless. Effortless! And it doesn't turn out looking like a tote bag or a bulletin board or whatever is supposedly in vogue out there because you're voguer than vogue. I am SO GLAD the craft world has you!
ReplyDeleteLove the daybed; love the movie! Thank you for the delightful and inspiring post.
ReplyDeleteSigh... you're the bee's knees.
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud (in a good way) - that was GREAT. Perfect music. What a way to make work be fun. Plus the sofa looks fantastic. Plus I love that Mrs. Norwood made an appearance. Plus I love the comment above that you are voguer than vogue. This blog has everything.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I'm def going to download that app. Cool, couch - sweet movie!
ReplyDeleteLooks great.. What kind of wood did you use
ReplyDeletefor the lattice work on the back & sides?
Is it all waterproof?
