The Big Reveal

Have you ever started a project and thought you'd knock it out in a couple of days? Like it would be your low pressure, super fun, quick and easy break from the grind sort of project? But then it grinds on? And on? And you start to feel like you'll NEVER finish?

And you stop eating and bathing, and flies are flying around you, and your nails are growing long and yellow, but you vow to keep working...

And you find yourself painting tiny little dots and eyes and stripes with tiny masking tape and sometimes even a toothpick and you feel totally insane?

And you re-paint the same things over and over in different colors, sometimes FOUR or FIVE times?

And every time you think you're almost done, you remember a whole chunk you still have to do?

And you don't even know if it will freaking work?

Well, let me tell you, I did all that. And I finished it FINALLY. And then I laid Maggie under it. And my sweet baby, who has been known to cry at the sight of the ceiling fan but smile at other light fixtures (she is VERY picky about home decor - she gets that from me), she looked up at those little circus creatures, and I waited with baited breath to see if she'd laugh or cry, and she grinned her crazy rainbows and unicorns shooting out of her eyes smile. YAY! It was totally worth it!

  1. And rightly so (did she smile, that is)! That is so pretty! It makes me want to craft-lift the idea and make it my own - although, how do you improve on THAT?!

Love it. Worth all the time, right?

  5. Wow, thank you so much, guys! I'm just glad that Maggie likes it. Otherwise, I guess I would've hung it over my bed. And creeped out my husband.

And here it is - so incredible, and worth every painstaking minute of love you put into it. I especially like your colors - best! P.S. I live in MN too! What are the odds? Winter 7 months a year makes for good crafting, methinks.
