Announcement: It's on.

Christmas. The holiday season is for crafters what the playoffs are for, uh, whatever sports teams have playoffs. Well, no, wait. It's like the Miss America Pageant for pageant girls, and I am putting vaseline on my teeth right now. I am not going to wake up sometime in mid-December and say, "Whoops, I didn't get anything made this year, I wasted my time relaxing with loved ones." No way! Not this year! There is no time for loved ones. There is no time for relaxing. There are Christmas crafts to be made. Break out the papier mache. It's on! I'll sleep in January. Who's with me? We'll only eat espresso and power bars. There will be no bathroom breaks. We will wear astronaut diapers (available at Michael's in the scrapbooking department).

Jon named these Famine, Pestilence, and Death because they look so awful because there's so much work to be done! Cue the montage. We need a montage song like the theme from Rocky or maybe we could get Beyonce to write us one.

  1. I started the holiday marathon 4 WHOLE WEEKS AGO--and I am already exhausted. It feels like I am on a crafting death march to Christmas. I think I need some tea with the hedgehogs to rejuvenate...

  5. Oh good, I'm glad it's not just me. I stupidly taught myself to knit last month, so at least half the poor saps that associate themselves with me will be getting weirdness for christmas. "What do you mean, you're baby's feet are the same size?!?!"

  6. I want to take a Non-Handmade Pledge. I want to give everyone plastic toys from Walmart for Christmas. The children, too. I feel like I want to put away my nutella drip (hey, get your husband to bring an IV home for you to put your expresso in so you don't have to waste time drinking it) forever. I think I'm all burnt out from Halloween.

Well, maybe for another week. I'm going to relax for another week. It's still November next week, right?

P.S. The horses are faking it. You've never made a bad thing in your life and they won't be the first. Besides, they are on Orla. Orla makes everything good.

  15. Just remember: if they're not with ya, they're against ya! Honestly that is the only 'tough talk' I could think of! Also remember, there is no crying in crafting, and let's see...there is no "I" in crafting...wait actually there is.

I'll need copious amounts of lattes, gingerbread cookies and Christmas carols to keep me going though!
