Silver lining
This is a picture of the snow on my deck. Snow actually sparkles, which I didn't realize until I moved to Minnesota from Texas.
I have the world's most annoying cold. My face is constantly on the verge of a sneeze. And now I have to go to the grocery store. The good news, though, is that the temperature is 7 below zero so my snot should freeze before it can run out my nose.
How did I get here?
whenever i think it might be cold in nyc, i remember that my snot is not freezing and i should therefore suck. it. up. because it used to in chicago. and i can't imagine in the MN.
ReplyDeleteI've lived in MI, MN, SD, CO and WI and you know it's cold when your damp hair freezes as you walk from your house to your car.
ReplyDeleteI live in Illinois and as I write this it is 3 below. I feel for you. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWe need more people like you in Texas! Come back, come back! (Smithville, Texas)
ReplyDeleteOttawa, Canada checking in here! You don't know cold until your eyelashes freeze together due to the tears you're crying from the fact that it's SO DAMN COLD! (Plus celcius just SOUNDS so much colder).
ReplyDeleteI agree, Katie! I have thought all of those things this past week (minus the cold - sorry you feel bad, can I bring you some soup?)
ReplyDeleteGreat capture of the glittery snow, it's hard to get a decent picture of it - I was trying to get one to show my family... it was so pretty to look at from the inside, because I sure was not going out in it.
Buffalo Ny.
ReplyDeletei was waiting for the bus to go to work and i was afraid to touch my hair cause i thought i would break it. =/
so i know where your coming from...
hope you get better soon!!!
Brainerd MN - I'm with ya and feel your pain! Hubbie even drug me out ice-fishing this evening! We were "roughing it" in an ice-castle with dvd and lots of heat. Gotta love it.
ReplyDeleteFirst thing I learned moving to MN, it could be too cold to snow!
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, one time in Austin TX, I was walking across the HEB (grocery store) parking lot and it was 112 degrees. I felt like I was on another planet. You know the feeling, huh, Smithville?
ReplyDeleteI think we should all move to San Francisco.
This totally made me laugh out loud - literally. "How did I get here?" I ask myself that everyday, although MN isn't as bad as the stint we did in northern ND.
