omg

Just looked at the new Liberty of London line at Target online. Oh my god. Is that much stuff really already sold out? I joked with my sister about camping out at Target the night before this stuff hits the store, but holy moly, I guess I should have!

Have you guys bought any of it? Is it beautiful? Can I borrow it?

P.S. Just looked at ebay. Oh yeah. There it is. I KNEW IT!

  1. I got there today while people were still at church and it was FLYING off the racks. I did get quite a few items but a few of the smaller purses and some of the rain boots were already sold out in certain sizes. On my loop back through the store toward checkout, a lot of stuff had been scooped up that was there when I first got there and there were a lot of people with frilly florals in their cart!

  2. I think I'm alone in my opinion on this! I just don't love the prints...:S Maybe I'd need to see it all in person, but anytime I see Liberty of London fabric, all I can think about is the fabric my grandma used to buy to make quilts back in the 80s. Am I completely off?

I must be! Otherwise, there wouldn't be this crazy surge of women flocking to target to get their hands on it.

  4. Oh, I hope that our Target isn't sold out of them!

  5. I went straight out when I read this! The Mothership (AKA Target, in my house at least) had only some of the line out on racks. They were still putting up signs in the Women's section and other areas had no signs at all. I did get the B&W serving tray & 2 toddler dresses (SO CUTE!!). Waiting for the little girl skirts to come out in Tutti Frutti and for the B&W floral bag for me. I wish they weren't so slow to unpack!! Maybe if I go back and ask them where the boxes are they will let me help...

  6. I have faith in Target-they will restock. If they are good enough to us the day after Thanksgiving to keep restocking and making sale items available, surely they won't let us down now. I ended up with the flower pots (love them), storage boxes and a pillow. I think I love the scarves and purses but I need a strap on my wallet bag and there was none and hubby really disliked the scarf.

  7. the key (which I discovered when the orla kiely line was out last year) is to go to a target in a less affluent town. I did snag several pieces of clothing for myself and my daughter. and some bedding. and an umbrella. and also a clutch, which I think I might return. there are a lot of items on the website that I didn't see in the store, though! I honestly think there are people going to the website and buying out like 100 lamps at once or something to sell on ebay. how could it be that half the stuff is sold out online??

  8. Yes, be very, very sad. The stuff is GORGEOUS.

  9. I got a coffee cup! Yay! Or I guess it's actually a teacup. I love that it's all spread out through the store in various departments. It's like going on an Easter egg hunt.

  10. Like an easter egg hunt with only 5 eggs in a mile radius, though given how quickly it all went. I went on Sunday morning last week and it was almost all gone. I did get a shirt for my husband--which will be the barometer of how cool he really is since only an uber-cool man would wear a liberty print. Also got a nightie sort of thing for myself...but the dishes and pillows were all gone, gone, gone. I need a prozac.

  11. Big hug, Katie - sorry to hear/read that your sinuses are acting up again. Spring has finally arrived to this frigid place but maybe that's a mixed blessing for sinuses? Poor you.

Supposed to be thinking about lunch prep now but of course I'm choosing to get online and vent - was in Target at last after being out of the country for three weeks. Forgot that the Liberty line was there. Gorgeous, esp the kids' clothes. Couldn't find a single table linen thing to buy to hack into a bag or something. Sad. Went over to the women's section and stared miserably at the lovely summer dresses. Why miserably? Because I couldn't buy them! Why? Because I don't like prints! Even gorgeous prints. What's wrong with me? I need therapy.

  12. Hope you are feeling better. Personally, I had a miserable experience trying to get the Liberty stuff, and I went the morning they were supposed to have the stuff in store! I won't bore you with the details, but they involve customer service people who don't read the huge overhead banners.

Anyway my 2¢ worth of critical review of the pieces I did get to see: the china pieces are nice and sturdy, the melamine are OK, the lampshades seem well-made, the girls' clothes are awesome, and the womens' clothing stinks. (Icky fabric, poorly made, and weird fit.) Oh and the picture frames are great. I bought the rainboots, 2 umbrellas and some coffee cups and love them. The umbrellas are junky but adorable so we will love them until they break and then make something else out of the fabric.
