Score!

I just snagged this chair for FIVE DOLLARS at a garage sale down the street! We were on our way to the grocery store, and I yelled, "Jon! Turn the car around!" He balked at first, but then I starting clawing at my seatbelt and  threatened to jump out while the car was in motion, so he turned around. I'm foaming at the mouth! The uphostery is shot, but the frame is rock solid. Oh, the possibilities! What fabric should I use to reupholster it? Should I paint the frame? Tell me what you guys think. I need your design input. How do you envision the "after" picture?

  1. White wood with gray corduroy. But I've been in a gray corduroy phase lately... it may pass...

  7. Oh the fabric possibilities are endless... but I definitely wouldn't paint it. I'd sand it and finish it natural. This is just beautiful!

  8. I agree with Erin, no paint. I wouldn't even sand it. Old wood is gorgeous. I would use something with pattern. Someone else said hot pink, I second that! This chair is clearly a girly girl! Great find!

  9. That would look great with a deep purple fabric, maybe crushed velvety type. I would love to have that chair myself. =)

  10. This looks like an antique ladies chair.... I would never consider painting it!!! yikes.. it is possibly beautiful rosewood. Victorian or Edwardian. Have it reupholstered in any fabric and it will be stunning. This was the find of the century. Great eyes!
