Secret Revealed!

Are you ready for the secret to printing directly onto fabric from your inkjet printer? Ready? I stuck the fabric onto a piece of cardstock with a glue stick. That's it! Isn't it silly easy? Just think of the possibilities! The cool thing is that I actually folded the fabric around the cardstock so the fabric was 11 x 17 inches and still went through the printer. The whole tutorial is up over at Ohdeedoh right now.

I recovered old paperbacks, but what are you guys going to make???

  1. this is so brilliant it blew my mind...I have heard of things you can get to treat fabric and then run it through your printer--but nothing as simple as this. And I love the book cover idea. You never cease to amaze. And also, thank you for posting about my pick up sticks tute on Ohdeedoh.

  2. I had a friend that glued ribbon, in stripes, to a piece of card stock then printed messages straight onto the ribbon for a project. Peeled them up, glued them on the new project. You guys are so clever!

  7. Very cool. An alternative would be to adhere the fabric with something like Heat n Bond, or Wonder Under, which are adhesives that stays flexible over time. A concern about the glue stick is that it gets brittle after a short while, in just a few months (at least for some glue sticks, if not all). For a book cover, an adhesive that stays flexible over time is ideal to prevent cracking or peeling up of the fabric from the paper backing.
