The Nursery is Done!

Yay! She's almost 2 years old, and I'm finally done! I've been working on it like a maniac for the past 2 weeks.

I'm trying to photograph it, but it's so dark and rainy outside. So frustrating. I think the tour will go up on ohdeedoh this week.

Did you know that if you chop the heads off of plastic lions and mount them onto little plaques, you can make lion door knockers? Just a little sneak peak there.

This is Maggie's closet. Real lion knockers are so expensive! Not bad for about 4 bucks each.

  1. Katie, that photo of the beheaded lions is priceless! You are so funny!

Big pat on the back for finishing the nursery. We just took ours apart this week and gave the crib away. The nursery in our house is like a holding room - somewhat triage-ish. Whoever is youngest gets it, but they can't wait to get out of it and join the Big Kids. Sad.

  2. The faceless lions had me wondering about your bizarre choice of nursery decor...then there were the door knockers. Fabulous!

  5. Yet more genius from you. And I think 2 years late is just fine... They don't know the difference! My kids are 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 and they're still waiting for a "kid" room. Someday! Great job.

  6. Awesome, Katie! I love the colors. Did you cut off and mount elephant heads for wall hooks? I used my Stiffy and the bonus acrylic-y stuff that came with it to make a necklace with a piece of canvas and dragonfly wings. It worked! Can't wait to see the nursery!!

  9. Very funny and genius.
Which kind of glue do you use? It should be very strong to resist all the pulling years coming. Maybe they are just decorative.
Anyway, as allways, awesome job! Like you.
