Headboard Brainstorming

I need a headboard if I'm going to go on any further with this adulthood thing. I looked all evening at DIY headboards on the web, and they seem to fall into two categories: upholstered and random stuff stuck to the wall. Clearly I'm going to have too much freedom here. So to narrow down my design options, I asked myself, "What is the primary function I want this thing to serve?" The answer is that it must be soft. That narrows it down a little. "What else is soft?" I asked myself in Monty Python form. Moss? Hostess Twinkies? Tube socks? Certain fish?
It's all percolating.

  2. Personally, I am dying to see a Twinkie headboard. What more could one ask for? Especially, for midnight snacking!

  3. I made one out of plywood, foam, batting, gorgeous fabric. Easy peasy. Attach to wall with french cleat. You could always edge it with twinkies. Good luck!

  4. Very small rocks? A newt?

I say go Gaga and glue gun a bunch of Beanie Babies to a piece of MDF.

  5. Oh Katie, you made me laugh today! The fish photo cracks me up. Especially how they fan out so perfectly from their tails. And I'm with lady lee - I want to see a broccoli headboard. Yes.
